Welcome to

Manav Rachna Miyawaki Forest

This green space is not just a garden or park. It is a living forest created to protect nature and support the environment.

This forest is developed using the Miyawaki method, a well-known method used around the world. In this method, native (local) trees and plants are planted very close to each other. In the first few years, the plants are taken good care of. Because of this, the forest grows much faster, becomes very dense, and supports many birds, insects, and small animals.

Unlike normal tree plantations, a Miyawaki forest becomes self-growing after some time. It needs very little human care. It helps in:

  • Improving soil quality
  • Cleaning the air
  • Saving and recharging groundwater
  • Making the surrounding area cooler and healthier

The Manav Rachna Miyawaki Forest has been developed with the support of the Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation, which works in the areas of environment, education, healthcare, and social development. The Foundation believes that protecting nature is a long-term responsibility, and this forest is part of that commitment for future generations.

This forest is also supported by the Manav Rachna Centre for Medicinal Plant Pathology (MRCMPP). MRCMPP works on research and conservation of medicinal plants. It maintains a greenhouse and medicinal gardens on the campus, which help students and researchers learn about plants used to prevent and treat different diseases.

This Miyawaki Forest is more than just trees. It is:

  • A learning space
  • A natural carbon absorber
  • A safe home for many living organisms

As you walk through this forest, take a moment to observe nature and understand the importance of protecting our environment. By being here, you are part of a shared effort to care for the Earth—one tree at a time.

Every tree in this forest represents responsibility, strength, and hope for a greener future.
