Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation works towards creating greener, cleaner and more sustainable communities through responsible waste management, plantation, recycling and environmental awareness. In collaboration with MCF, Eco Club Faridabad Society and IPCA, we turn collective action into lasting environmental impact.

Our Initiatives

Seven programmes running through the year

Green Grah

Green Grah began as a student-led idea during internships with Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation. Volunteers observed the growing impact of single-use plastic and poor waste segregation and realised that lasting change required community participation beyond awareness campaigns. Their efforts included promoting waste segregation and creating useful benches from recycled waste. Recognising its potential, Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation developed the idea into a structured, year-long sustainability programme in Indraprasth Colony, Faridabad, in collaboration with the RWA, MCF, Eco Club Faridabad Society and community partners. Today, Green Grah has engaged and sensitised 1,600+ households, working towards a replicable Zero-Waste Colony model.

Paridaan

Paridaan is Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation’s clothing donation initiative, giving usable clothes a meaningful second life while supporting those in need. Through collection drives, students, families, volunteers and the Manav Rachna community come together to donate clothing, which is sorted and distributed among underserved families and communities. The initiative promotes sharing, dignity and responsible reuse, reminding us that what we no longer need can bring warmth and comfort to someone else.

Raddi Recycling

Raddi Recycling gives discarded paper a new purpose while promoting responsible waste management. Through collection and recycling drives, students, schools and communities are encouraged to segregate newspapers, notebooks, cartons and other paper waste. The collected material is recycled into useful products, conserving resources and reducing waste. The initiative inspires a simple habit: when managed responsibly, waste can become a valuable resource for a sustainable future.

Mega Plantation Drive

Mega Plantation Drive is an annual initiative organised during the monsoon season, bringing together students, parents, faculty, volunteers and community members to create greener and healthier surroundings. The drive also includes the development of Miyawaki forests, creating dense, biodiverse green spaces. Beyond planting trees, the initiative encourages communities to nurture and protect them, building a lasting culture of environmental responsibility.

Eco Wall

Eco Wall was initiated by interns of the Social Internship Programme (SIP) who observed that many government schools and community spaces had limited or no space to create conventional green areas. They explored an innovative solution—using waste materials to bring greenery to vertical spaces.

Discarded plastic bottles, saucers and other reusable materials were transformed into planters and mounted on existing walls. Plants were nurtured in these upcycled containers, turning plain walls into vibrant green walls while giving waste a new purpose.

Eco Wall demonstrates that creating green spaces does not always require large areas. With creativity, recycling and community participation, even an unused wall can become a living, sustainable space.
