In response to the call given by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. M.L. Khattar– Swacchh Haryana Abhiyaan, a cleanliness drive was organized by Faculty of Management Studies, MRIU by the Dean, Dr. Chavi Bhargava Sharma and an enthusiastic group of faculty, staff members and students on November 1st 2014. Hon’ble Chancellor of MRIU, Dr. Prashant Bhalla initiated the idea towards this activity, saying that students being the future of the country should be the protagonists towards building a better India. He said that the railway station is a statement about the city, both as an entry point and even as a place to pass by, for passengers.
The volunteers, students, teachers and staff of FMS MRIU cleaned in and around the Faridabad railway station area. Hon’ble VC of MRIU, Dr. N C Wadhwa, and other senior officers of the University initiated the cleaning campaign at the Railway Station.
The entire programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Chavi Bhargava Sharma, Dean FMS. After reaching the station, a number of teams were formed and assigned the areas to be cleaned. All material required for cleaning was also provided to the teams. All the staff and faculty members were excited for the task and they personally cleaned every nook and corner of the railway station. The volunteers collected polythene wrappers and other rudiments lying on the station premises. The team removed all sort of garbage and other unhygienic material including dust and polythene from the railway platforms, parking area, ticket counters, foot over bridge and stairways. The passengers stopped to look at the activities and many of them also joined in. Station Superintendent at Faridabad Railway Station, Mr. K C Meena applauded the sincere efforts put in by Team MRIU and offered utmost cooperation for the program.
This cleanliness drive held by FMS, MRU succeeded peacefully with the help of the officials of Faridabad railway station. FMS has been actively working for the society, spreading awareness about various causes, which still plague, our system. This regime is followed every week judiciously.
